Frederiksberg Stadium was opened on June 1'st 1924. However, it was not until 1983, that the Stadium got a tartan surface.
The same year Frederiksberg Stadium hosted the traditional match between the junior teams of Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland and Denmark. On that occasion, Sweden won, and several of the present Stadium Records were set at this meeting.

Since then Frederiksberg Stadium has hosted two Danish Championships (1984, 1997) and two Danish Junior Championships (1991, 1994).

As you can see from the women's and the men's Stadium Records, Frederiksberg Stadium has been the stage of many good results. The Danish record on the women's 100 meter hurdles (13.45 seconds by Dorthe Rasmussen in 1984) and the Danish Record in the men's pole vault (5.70 metres by Martin Voss in 1997) were both set on Frederiksberg Stadium, which also goes for 6 Danish Junior records.
